Living where I do can be very sociable, and very random. On Sunday an unrecognisable woman came walking up the moorings with a pram. She was a fellow boater (only been on board a couple of weeks) and had run out of water, and to go and fill up elsewhere would have taken them all day to get there and back. Her baby daughter was just three weeks old and a tiny almost premature baby like Mia, and born in the same month, and the mum was the same age as me when I had Mia (38) Of course we invited them to come along with their boat and butty up with us (tie up along side). I felt like I wanted to mother them, who would have a baby on a boat as the winter is drawing in??? I know we did it, but from the outside looking in, (having 10 years experience on board, I know all the things that can go wrong) it seems a pretty harsh thing to do.
Monday was a strange day wasnt it? It felt very apocalytical, with the orange sun, and sepia skies, I had an unproductive day, but did cook a nice healthy lunch for my new boat mum friend.
Tuesday I did lots of sewing, made a skirt, some cushion covers and did some alterations.
Wednesday, well, what a smack in the teeth this day was. Not only did I lose my phone in the cut (canal - because it was cut out of the land), I tried for over half getting cold, wet and muddy, but I couldn't find it. Then, I was a victim of Identity Fraud, fortunately my bank was on the case and stopped them from doing any transactions, but the paranoia it creates is not nice. Basically, I had my phone and card stolen from outside my boat about 6 weeks ago, but its only this week they tried to take money from me. Anyway, that was a horrific day, and took up my time and energy so got little else done.
Thursday, I was pretty flat, I'll be honest, Richard worked at home, so he utilised my sewing room, and I couldn't do any online stuff as his internet couldn't support me using it too (at this stage I am using a cheap £10 mobile). However, my colleagues from Newbury Crafters Networking group, (which we started a few weeks ago), had finalised the Christmas Pop Up Shop Space for us, so that was fantastic, and when I got home from the meeting, Rich had got the genny fixed, whoopee, washing galore. (By Saturday it was not working again).

Pineapple Lodge - Venue for Pop up shop- this cheers me up |
By Friday I was pretty stressed and anxious, having to sort out a new phone etc and worrying about the identity fraud., but I managed to finish another commission.
Friday night was our New Moon Sister Circle, I really couldn't be bothered to go out, but new it was the best thing to do, else I would have just indulged in too much wine to wind down. The sister circle was fantastic, my co host Lulu, had put up her yurt by the side of the towpath in Woolhampton. We had a good turn out, tears flew by some, and it was very grounding, and great to feel the energy and support of other women. I'm so glad I went, a change of scenery, the company of friends, and sharing our issues was the tonic I needed after my recent spate of bad luck. As the Moon is in Libra, the issue we addressed was balance, I spoke about the fact that I need to make sure I remember, to allow time in the week to make time for myself, have some free time, because all of the incidents that have happened to me, may not have occurred if I didn't spend my life rushing around, and trying to fit in too many things.
Next week is school holidays, yay, I love spending tie with my girl, but as soon as the 1st of November hits, I've got a month to get a stock of Christmas products for the Pop Up shop.
