How to clean a clothes iron

Hi there!
I hope the snowy weather we have been having in the UK hasn't bothered you too much. I hope you have enjoyed the scenes and maybe you even had some snow fun like I have had with the kids.
I do love the snow, the white blanket that covers the ground and it all merges in to one, I also find it peaceful do you? This week it was the full moon, the snow moon as it is sometimes known, this brings with it a light night, and with the snow reflecting of it, it makes it even more so. Everything seems peaceful and quieter, don't you think? I actually looked it up on the web and it is a scientific fact that snow absorbs sound.
Last year, I made a goal that I was to have a go at doing videos for You Tube, so I can raise more interest in my business, Foxy Lady Creations. This week, I had the painstaking task of having to clean my iron, as it had got dirty over time, and last week when I was tutoring, I got carried away, and accidentally burnt one of the tea towels I use for pressing (synthetic, so it was plastic burnt fast onto it). I filmed it in stages, but unfortunately I didnt know how to add the end result to the video, but you do get to see the processes I went through to achieve my glistening finish.
So here goes, please click on the link below

My vintage iron collection

My vintage iron collection includes, a couple of flat irons that heat up on top of a stove; a gas iron (the green bottomed one), a Tiley iron which is powered by a parafin flame (a bit scary to use) the 1950s travel one, featured in the video, and an even tinier travel one. I would like a coal powered iron, but they are rather large to store. As I explain in my video, the Pifco 1950s travel iron suits my off grid living most. Its a lower wattage, with a normal modern iron, I would have to run the generator to use it (apart from mid summer), but this one I can start using it off the solar much earlier in the year. Once its hot, it stays hot for a good half hour once you've switched it off, and it has a lovely weight to it. And when its nice and clean has a lovely glide to it.

I will apologise for the quality of my You Tube videos, they are my first experiements
